Previously, an LAPD spokesperson told People it was not now “handling any report or allegations into child abuse against Brad Pitt”, but the publication’s source claims the investigation is indeed ongoing.

Pitt was allegedly verbally and physically abusive with his children while on a flight last Wednesday, when he was drunk on a private jet: “He allegedly went wild, screaming and getting physical with the kids”.
According to the celebrity website TMZ, Los Angeles police began probing Pitt based on an anonymous tip received by the Department of Children and Family Services, as is systematic following any report of child abuse.

TMZ is reporting the LAPD may have their hands tied on this case because the alleged abuse took place while the plane was flying from France to the US.
“A source with knowledge of the situation said Thursday: “[Brad] is taking this very seriously and he’s cooperated. Federal sources tell the outlet they haven’t “officially determined whether there is any merit to the case”. “It’s unfortunate that people involved are continuing to present him in the worst possible light”.
Numerous details regarding the incident and subsequent investigation were also confirmed on the People.com website.
The abuse reports surfaced just days after Jolie, 41, filed for divorce from Pitt in a Los Angeles court on Monday, citing irreconcilable differences.
Cotillard says she hopes Jolie and Pitt “will find peace in this very tumultuous moment”. “I kindly ask the press to give them the space they deserve during this challenging time”.
