Farron appeals to Labour voters alienated by Corbyn
“We will fight to make sure the British people have their say before the United Kingdom has to accept a deal that nobody gave consent to”, he said.

“Do you ever listen to these Labour people arguing among themselves, throwing around the word Blairite as if it’s the world’s most offensive insult?”
“It no longer supports business, no longer understands the need for calm economic pragmatism, but instead pursues the nationalist protectionist fantasies of the Brexit fundamentalists who have won the day”.
Mr Farron said that the Lib Dems were now the “party of business” in the wake of the EU Referendum.
“In 20 years’ time we’re all going to be asked by our kids, when our NHS, our schools system, our unity as a country has been impoverished by 20-odd years of Tory rule, and when our economy has been relegated, our green industries trashed, and our status diminished after two decades of isolation from Europe”.
In his speech Tuesday, Farron will also commit his party to backing tax rises to fund a major expansion of Britain’s taxpayer-funded National Health Service, to become a National Health and Care Service, encompassing day-to-day care of the elderly and disabled.
He joked that like the Manchester band The Stone Roses, he “preferred the early work”.
And he will attack the Prime Minister, saying: “Theresa May says Brexit means Brexit”.
“I don’t think the majority of people from Labour or Conservatives would come across because when I speak to those sorts of people the reason that they are Conservatives or in the Labour Party is because they perceive a lot more chance of getting in to power by doing that than following their true belief of being a Liberal Democrat”.
Describing the European Union referendum result as being like a “bereavement”, Mr Farron said that a meeting with Leave voters made him realise that then chancellor George Osborne’s warning of a harsh Budget if the country did not choose Remain backfired badly.
In his speech Farron repeated his calls for another referendum on “the as-yet-unknown Brexit deal”.
Around 2,000 people flocked to see Jeremy Corbynin Sheffield city centre.. “Three months on, it isn’t good enough to have brainstorming sessions at Chequers while investment and jobs steadily bleed away”.
Mr Farron who has pledged to campaign for a second referendum will insist that the Liberal Democrats are the only party prepared to fight for Britain and its place in single market.
Mr Farron is hoping his party – which has only eight MPs – can rebuild after its drubbing at the General Election – by picking up the votes of some of the disgruntled 48% of people who wanted to Remain.
“Drawing the equivalence between sex work and accountancy is not one that I share”.

Mr Clegg predicted internal divisions within the Cabinet would force Theresa May into a “Panic Brexit” that would open up opportunities for the Lib Dems to work with others. I think that everybody is utterly equal.
