The update, called Version 8.0, is expected to bring all kinds of new features to Tesla vehicles. On the Version 8.0 announcement, Tesla Motors CEO Elon Musk tweeted that the auto could keep the temperature at a safe level for up to a year, on a full charge – we suspect basic food and water needs would become a bigger issue for any creature inside the vehicle for that length of time… He told DN the horsepower he has is still a lot and he doesn’t mean to sound whiney, “but many buyers stretched themselves to experience a vehicle with 700 horsepower and when we don’t get what we paid for, we feel cheated”.

Kaspar N. Thommessen – an attorney at Wikborg Rein law firm representing the plaintiffs – said some 126 owners of the Tesla Model S sedan’s P85D performance version want “unspecified reimbursements” after their Model S reached only 469 horsepower instead of 700 Horsepower pledged by the automaker.

Mr Gao has demanded Tesla stop using the phrase “automatic driving” in its promotion of Autopilot, publicly apologise for false advertising and pay 10,000 yuan (S$2,046) in compensation for the family’s grief caused by the son’s death, Cui said.

The updates follow a May crash that put Tesla in the hot seat.

Tesla claims that its new system will reduce accidents in its vehicles by up to half. But there’s a possible hidden hazard that has come to light with the hacking of Tesla’s CAN bus -its internal computer control system. Tesla said its own tests and independent checks have “demonstrated that the Model S P85D’s acceleration and motor-power numbers have always been accurate”. However, they didn’t reveal by how much their Model S cars erred by.
