Egypt’s Sisi urges Israel to make history, reach peace deal with Palestinians

Clinton, who faces Trump in the November 8 election, announced last week that she would meet both with Sisi and Ukraine President Petro Poroshenko in bilateral sessions expected to take place late on Monday.

During the meeting, Trump expressed his recognition of Egypt’s close relationship with Israel on countering terrorism, the campaign said.

Trump himself has declined to name those he will meet with on Monday.

Trump said local police often know who “a lot of these people are” but “they are afraid to do anything about it because they don’t want to be accused of profiling”.

Clinton’s decision to meet with Sisi has already raised questions among human rights activists.

Trump’s meeting with Sisi – the first time the Republican presidential candidate has met a leader from the Muslim world – appeared to be a response to his opponent’s program.

Those include Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

According to Al-Ahram, these plots consist of “taking the political leadership’s time in diplomatic meetings for reason of protocol” as well as “asking worldwide media and prominent journalists to demand interviews” with Sisi and his advisors.

The 2 US Presidential candidates tried to bolster their diplomatic credentials at the United Nations. Trump’s favorable rhetoric toward Russian President Vladimir Putin and past statements expressing ambivalence toward some North Atlantic Treaty Organisation commitments have become a flashpoint in the campaign.

‘I just don’t wanna comment on specifically who they are, ‘ Trump said, adding that he thinks he’ll be able to share the information later.

He said: “They’re making violence possible”.

Clinton had a complicated role as Secretary of State in the Obama administration during the Arab Spring where she initially voiced confidence in 2011 in long-time leader Hosni Mubarak, but called for a peaceful transition after protests escalated.

“We hear that Trump will be supporting Sisi in the so-called fight against terrorism and this will lead to cracking down more on human rights, leading to a massive deterioration in the human rights situation in Egypt”, says Mohamed Ahmed, a researcher on Egypt at Amnesty International. “Then that vision or point of view gets corrected and develops as a result of experience, reports and advice from experts”, Sisi said. The meeting will likely highlight Clinton’s commitment to United States alliances in Japan and South Korea and the U.S. belief that it is up to China to do more to convince its ally in Pyongyang to turn away from its nuclear path.
