FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) – Another week, another new quarterback, another win for the New England Patriots. Two different Texans players fumbled kickoffs deep in Patriots’ territory following field goals.

The New England Patriots will play the Houston Texans on NFL Thursday Night Football as both teams look to continue their flawless starts to the new season. Despite only passing for 92 yards on 6-for-9 passing when he came off the bench in Sunday’s game against the Miami Dolphins, that has been more than enough to beat Bishop and Davey in career passing yards for a black Patriots quarterback.

The Patriots entered tonight’s game against the Texans as slight underdogs at home, despite a history of destroying Houston anytime they had a chance, especially at home.

It was New England’s first shutout since December 30, 2012, and it was the first time the Texans were blanked since December 7, 2003.

The Texans were held to just 284 yards of total offense. Rookie WR Will Fuller is the third player in National Football League history with 100-plus receiving yards in each of his first two career games. Brock Osweiler had only 196 yards and no touchdowns with one interception. “It went just how we planned it was going to work out”.

New England (3-0) called zone-read plays, options, quick slants, fast throws to the edge, designed runs, and underneath routes that allowed Brissett to use his mobility and selectively flash his arm strength.

Against a formidable Houston defence, look for Bill Belichick to feature a run-heavy offence to open up some play action passes and also to take some pressure of the rookie.

“I got a headache from all the head bopping”, Brissett said.

RB LeGARRETTE BLOUNTBlount started out slow but ripped off a 41-yard touchdown run late in the fourth quarter to sufficiently close out the game.

This is par for the course for Bill Belichick’s Patriots. The longest run of Tom Brady’s career is 22 yards. That streak ended in the first quarter with Brissett’s 27-yard touchdown run. Wouldn’t it be something to see him have to quarterback this game?
