Samsung Canada says Galaxy Note 7 sales will resume ‘mid-October’

Consumers who missed a deadline on Monday to get a refund for their Note 7 now have until the end of the month to get an iPhone or a similar device from the same telecom in exchange for their Note 7.
S. Korea orders battery safety measures for Samsung Note 7 was posted in Sci-Tech of TheNews International – https://www.thenews.com.pk on September 22, 2016 and was last updated on September 22, 2016. This is a move that will bring the handsets in line with the 500,000 replacement models that Samsung has shipped over the last couple of weeks to users who had unsafe devices. One will show a green battery icon to confirm that a Note 7 device is a new one that doesn’t have the battery problem.
Samsung Galaxy Note 7 smartphones were announced for a recall by Samsung after finding out that its phone batteries are prone to fire.
“To be clear, the Note 7 with the new battery is safe, the battery cell issue is resolved”, said Tim Baxter, president of Samsung Electronics America in a statement.
Samsung spokeswoman Jee Hae-Ryoung said by phone that the company was unable to study the reported third Note 7 fire because the consumer refused to hand in the phone. However, reports from wireless carrier locations in Seoul indicate Samsung does not have enough units available, so some consumers are still left with a potentially defective device while they wait.
