The Cleveland Cavaliers guard announced that instead of taking a knee during the National Anthem, he’ll be donating money for each steal he gets in the upcoming season to foundations that “improve the struggle between the badge and the citizen”.

Williams signed a two-year, $4.3 million deal with the Cavaliers prior to last season, returning to the franchise for his second stint.

Neither J.R. Smith nor Mo Williams arrived in Santa Barbara, Calif., Tuesday for the start of LeBron James’ minicamp this week, multiple sources told cleveland.com.For the third consecutive season, James invited his Cavs teammates to work out together ahead of training camp, which begins Monday.

The 33-year-old told former Cavaliers beat reporter Chris Haynes that 2016-17 undoubtedly will be his final season.

Speaking to ESPN.com’s Chris Haynes, Williams said “this is my previous year”. “Now being the defending world champs, we’re gonna have to be better, play better”.

The Cleveland Cavalier recently posted a picture on Instagram of his attractive daughter Iman Tayla Shumpert Jr. with a caption calling for solutions to the growing tension between citizens and the police. Smith also said he and his team have a mutual respect for each other and he doesn’t want to take advantage. “It just got to the point where it’s like a cup of boiling water”. Does keeping Smith give Cleveland Cavaliers a bigger chance of winning a back-to-back championship? That’s my ultimate goal. “So it made the decision for me to walk away from the game a whole lot easier being that my boys are growing up and I want to have that time with them”. Kyrie and LeBron are superstars and will always play well.

The guys, Lue included, really miss J.R. Smith. There was some uncertainty about whether the Cavaliers would bring him back, though. “I can only enhance them and help their progression”.
