Jurgen Klopp ‘froze’ when Liverpool drew Tottenham in the EFL Cup

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has suggested the choice he makes for Saturday when it comes to his goalkeepers may not be the number one choice for the remainder of the season, he told his press conference, as reported by the Liverpool Echo.

“We need to be angry against Hull”, Klopp said.

“They want our points”.

“When I came here I had to explain why we field strong line-ups and now in the competition it looks like a semi-final each game. Why should it be easier?”. I don’t know why people think we have problems with this? “I think [he will be available] but we will see”.

“I can 100pc guarantee it’s not about the attitude of the players”. “We should not care about the name of the opponent, and we didn’t care about it before we played Chelsea, Tottenham, Arsenal – not the name, not the players – only focusing on the style of play, what we have to do where are our opportunities, where is the space we can create”, mused Klopp, reminding us that he knows how to play to our strengths.

Klopp’s side have taken maximum points from Arsenal, champions Leicester City and most recently Chelsea with only a solitary defeat against Burnley. We have to think why so many people think we have big problems against ‘bus parking.’ I am not sure Hull will do this and I can not remember a lot of space against Chelsea or Tottenham.

“We don’t need money but it’s about finding the right squad”.

“We spoke about our transfer window last summer, it was quite busy and I don’t want to have this busy transfer windows”. If everything is going well then we don’t have to buy another six players next year. “Let’s try to create an atmosphere when everybody is on their performance”.

Liverpool welcome back midfielders Adam Lallana and Georginio Wijnaldum who were left out of Tuesday’s 3-0 League Cup victory over Derby County as a precautionary measure.

Jürgen Klopp hopes that Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge will be available for the visit of Hull City on Saturday despite missing “three days” of training earlier this week.

Karius, who joined for £4.7 million ($6.1 million dollars, 5.4 million euros) played in pre-season but then broke his hand and missed the start of the new Premier League season.

The England worldwide did not feature in Tuesday night’s 3-0 win over Derby County in the third round of the EFL Cup after picking up a strain during last week’s 2-1 victory over Chelsea.
