Ahmad Khan Rahami, 28, was apprehended on Monday in Linden, New Jersey, after a shootout with police that left him with multiple gunshot wounds.

For the New Jersey attacks, Rahami was charged with two counts of using and attempting to use weapons of mass destruction.
Rahami was arrested after he was shot during a gun battle with police in Linden, New Jersey on Monday morning.
However, there are contradictory accounts of how Rahami came to the attention of law enforcement. Police said they had not recovered the suitcase.
The FBI has released an image of two men who took a suitcase that held a bomb that did not explode in New York City.
“The sounds of bombs will be heard in the streets”, the journal declared.
In a statement today, the Federal Bureau of Investigation acknowledged that in August 2014 they “initiated an assessment of Ahmad Rahami based upon comments made by his father after a domestic dispute that were subsequently reported to authorities”.
One of the officials said Wednesday that Ahmad Khan Rahami’s wife made a statement to authorities after walking into the U.S. Embassy in the United Arab Emirates.
He stood trial in front of a grand jury but was not indicted.
Linda Flores-Tober, executive director of the Elizabeth Coalition to House the Homeless, says she is glad Parker is being recognized.
Ultimately, federal investigators believed it was a domestic dispute, several federal officials told CNN.
Authorities have yet to determine where the suspect allegedly assembled the bombs, the federal law enforcement official said.
Though investigators have already spoken to Rahami’s family, they are seeking more information on what, if anything, they knew about his intentions.
A federal law enforcement official confirmed to NJ Advance Media that Mohammad Rahami did call authorities, initiating a review by federal agents. It wasn’t immediately clear whether he had a lawyer who could comment on the charges.
The two men, caught on surveillance video footage, are considered potential witnesses, not suspects, in the bombing, said Robert Boyce, chief of detectives for the New York City Police Department. At the time, he was employed by Summit Security, a private contractor.
He also mentioned Nidal Hasan, the former U.S. Army officer who went on a deadly shooting rampage in 2009 at Fort Hood, Texas. They added that 12 latent prints were found on the bomb, duct tape and a cell phone triggering device before tracing them to Rahami.

The complaint sheds new light on Rahami’s alleged motives and means, and the time line of the incidents. The company said it has been cooperating with the federal inquiry. Fingerprints also matched the materials found there to Rahami, the complaints said.
