Sources had told TMZ that Pitt was drunk while on a private plane with his family, and that he was verbally and physically abusive.

The Los Angeles Police Department previously told PEOPLE that they are not investigating any reports or allegations of child abuse against Pitt.
However, a source close to the actor defended him saying that people are trying to malign him with such reports and that he did not commit any such abuse.
“LAPD is not handling any report or allegations into child abuse for Mr. Brad Pitt”, the department told the site in a statement. Attempts to reach representatives for Pitt in Los Angeles were not successful.
Update: In a statement issued to The Hollywood Reporter, the LAPD says it’s not “actively pursuing” a criminal investigation.
A manager for Pitt did not immediately return an email from Mashable seeking comment.
Brad and Angelina have reportedly been interviewed as part of the probe, and there are plans for authorities to speak to the children.
Jolie separated from Pitt the day following the alleged incident and filed for divorce a few days later.
In divorce documents, Jolie listed the couple’s date of separation as the following day, September 15. Jolie and their children were reportedly on the jet with Pitt, and TMZ’s sources alleged that Pitt attempted to exit the scene in an airport fuel truck. They were together for 12 years before the split. “We have confirmed with the detectives, and according to our detectives there are no active investigations regarding Brad Pitt”.
“I am very saddened by this, but what matters most now is the well-being of our kids”, he said. In her filing, she said she was ending the marriage due to Pitt’s “parenting of the children”.

Angelina’s attorney said after the divorce news was made public that she had chosen to end her relationship with Brad for the “health of the family”.
