Ciminelli said it appeared that there was no problem at the Boys and Girls Club and the shooting was not connected to the basketball game, but added, “It is still subject to change”.

A large crowd has gathered near the scene of the shooting, and police remain on the scene.

“A vehicle drove by and at least one of the occupants in the auto fired shots from the auto into the crowd that had gathered after a basketball game at the Boys and Girls Club”, said Rochester Police Chief Michael Ciminelli.

The names and ages of the victims have not yet been released. Emotions ran high as family and friends of the victims consoled each other.

An investigation into the incident is underway, the police said. “We intend to find out who did it and bring them to justice”.
