“CGI quickly became an embodiment of what works best in the 21st-century world, and what has been behind all of the Clinton Foundation’s work since the very beginning: networks of cooperation”.

As a result, Clinton announced in August that the Clinton Global Initiative’s September meeting would be its last.

The Fragrance Foundation, a trade group for the perfume industry, paid former President Bill Clinton $260,000 to give a speech in January 2014 that lasted less than an hour.

Democrats were on to something when they lamented that Bill Clinton has not exactly been the the party’s biggest helper this election. “We informed CGI staff of this transition more than four months before the end of the year, and have provided information about CGI-related roles that will continue”, a spokesperson for the Clinton Foundation told Politico.

Although some allies of the foundation were not happy with the way staff is being let go, one of the former officials told Politico that it would be a “bad idea” to keep the staff following allegations that donors received special access to Clinton’s State Department.

He noted that he’s worked for the foundation “longer than I’ve ever had any job – and I loved it”.

The official name also will be changed to Clinton Foundation, from its current Bill, Hillary & Chelsea Clinton Foundation.

A follow-up Associated Press story found that over half of the people Mrs. Clinton met with while serving at the federal agency were Clinton Foundation donors.

“Well, we all know people”, Clinton said. Hillary Clinton and President Barack Obama have both declined to attend, something they both did in past meetings.

“You’re stepping down from the [board of] the Foundation though”, CNBC said.

The foundation has pushed back against the attacks, but questions about the foundation continue to hamper Clinton’s campaign with some voters. “And I think it’s fair”.
