Norwegians sue Tesla for not being Viking enough

Software update 8.0 brings with it a new look for the central touchscreen, the most major update to its design since the Model S launched.

The California-based company stated that its Autopilot system introduced more than a year ago, which helps the vehicle change lanes, maintain proper speed and braking to avoid a collision, was not an entirely autonomous feature.

Tesla Motors is releasing a new version of Autopilot overnight, adding features the company says will make it safer and more reliable.

The driver’s family claim the vehicle was using Tesla’s Autopilot technology at the time of the crash, although Tesla dispute this and insist the crash was not due to a technology failure.

V8.0 is claimed to be a major overhaul “on nearly every level”, with hundreds of important revisions.

The 8.0 upgrade takes this into consideration, allowing the auto to autonomously make room for large vehicles – even if that means going out of lane slightly, as long as it is safe to do so, of course.

Sandvold Roland said Tesla’s own tests and independent checks showed the P85D can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers (60 miles) per hour in 3.1 to 3.3 seconds.
