Nissan gives us a peek at bold new Micra
Nissan released the first teaser of the 2017 Nissan Micra yesterday evening and announced that the auto will have its world premiere at the 2016 Paris Motor Show on 29 September.

In the short video posted overnight on YouTube, we get a glimpse of the next Micra’s headlights and tail-lights, as well as part of the bonnet, grille, front bumper, and tailgate. With the new Micra, however, the company is set to mend the chink in its armour by adopting a sharper design language, just as it did with the new X-Trail SUV.
These little snippets tell us that the new Micra is a big, big departure from the current Micra’s bulbous, cutesy rounded design.
Details are rather unclear at the moment, but based on our previous report, the next generation Nissan Micra will be based on Nissan’s CMF platform and will be produced out of plant in France and not from Renault-Nissan Alliance plant in Chennai. Based on the teaser, a rendering created by IAB’s automotive illustrator Shoeb Kalania previews the 2017 Nissan Micra’s front-end in production guise. Hence the made-in-India new Micra is expected to be launched only by the end of 2017. Three and four cylinder petrol as well as diesel engines with the combination of both manual and automatic transmission are expected to power the vehicle.
Engine specifications of the new Micra have been reserved for the show.

Nissan has been producing the Micra in one form or the other since 1982.
