“I was not here to see what happened, but they can forget it”, said Guardiola.
‘I saw the game at West Ham and they were unlucky. Then there’d be no reason for us to be here. I allow myself to feel satisfied for an hour or two hours after a game but the day after you worry about what is going to happen.
Aguero scored his second Champions League hat-trick of the campaign in the midweek cruise over Borussia Monchengladbach. “We need them in the Champions League to beat the best teams in the world”.
Gundogan said: “It has been a ideal start for us, with great performances over the last few weeks and some very special games”.
“We knew how important a win was – we are in a very tough group – so it’s huge, and psychologically it was hard to wait another 24 hours”.
While Guardiola admits his side’s position in the league is pleasing to see he has warned his players against complacency. “But he has to know that behind there is a team that’s going to help him, if he’s going to help, and that is what I want to convince him”.

Of the 24-hour delay after heavy rain in Manchester, he added: “We’d been preparing for the game since beating Man United and it was frustrating not to play, but the weather conditions were awful so there was nothing we could do”.
Summer signing Gundogan was the latest to catch the eye as he made a belated first appearance following a knee injury. We have to be so proud to play in this competition. We are playing with a different system this year, another way of playing.
Goal understands that Aguero has already penned a new deal which will keep him at the Etihad Stadium until 2020. There are many things we can do better’.
“This was the most important game in the season to now”, he added. “I don’t know if it is going to be this year, but we will try”. In April 2016, he also became the fastest player in Premier League history to reach the 100 goal milestone.
