Pulis says adaptability key as 1000th game looms
Sir Alex Ferguson lavished praise on his fellow 1,000 club member and highlighted Pulis” “relentless desire” and “will to win’ as his best traits.

Pulis will reach the milestone on Saturday when his Albion side travel to face his former club Stoke in the Premier League.
As fate would have it, Pulis reaches the landmark at Stoke where, during two spells, he amassed 464 of his 999 matches as a manager to date.
Stoke are in last place with one point from five games.
For Hughes and Stoke it was the fourth defeat in a row in all competitions – a torrid streak which includes three successive league losses, leaving the struggling club rock-bottom of the Premier League with just a single point to their name.
“Getting to 1,000 games in management, and for the game to drop at Stoke, its unbelievable really”, Pulis told reporters.
“We’ve had a run of results that we’re not happy about, but to question the players which is totally untrue”.
“When I come out of football I’ll look back and think of my 1,000 games as an achievement”. In terms of what he’s been able to produce on the pitch – goodness me he’s not played too many games in the last number of years.
Pulis refused to dwell on Stoke’s problems with the pressure starting to mount on current boss Mark Hughes.
Tony Pulis. The Welshman is going back to his old club where he had so much success for his 1000 game as a manager. Unfortunately we are fair game for some areas of work, who feel they can get easy headlines.
Pulis’s future has been under scrutiny since the Midlands club changed ownership, with Chinese investment group Yunyi Guokai (Shanghai) Sports Development Ltd completing their takeover last week.
Pulis said: “We have decided against taking Chamakh and Sissoko”.
