Wisconsin tabs QB Hornibrook to start vs. Michigan St.

The incoming class will be recognized during Saturday’s game. He’ll try to maintain the fantastic run of play he had against Akron and Georgia State, but a road game in East Lansing will provide challenges he hasn’t faced yet.

In order to get a deeper insight to our opponents this week, we are joined by Jake Kocorowski from the Wisconsin site Bucky’s 5th Quarter. But, there isn’t a Big 12 team ranked right now on more than inertia. After taking on the Spartans, the Badgers get Michigan, Ohio State, Iowa and Nebraska in successive weeks.

NOTES: Besides Clement, RBs Taiwan Deal (right ankle) and Bradrick Shaw (right shoulder) are also listed as questionable, along with OL Jon Dietzen (right leg) and DE Billy Hirschfeld (left leg).

“We see the rankings of our opponents, but we’re going to approach this Big Ten season like we always have”, running back Dare Ogunbowale said.

I think the Hoosiers defense it better… Wisconsin has the 19th-ranked rush defense in the country, but the Spartans’ line is getting stronger by the week.

A potential problem for the Badgers, though, is three of their top four running backs are injured and could miss the game.

This will be the key match-up for both offenses, if they can assert their will over the opposing defensive lines.

Anderson Earns National Player of the Week HonorsKendal Anderson was named Longstreth/NFHCA Division I Offensive Player of the Week and Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week on September 6.

To be fair, they faced Fournette in a pro-style system and contained him, though he gained six yards per carry with two runs of 30 and 19 yards helping to bolster those numbers. The other two, Wisconsin and Iowa, are probably more favored, but they aren’t playing each other. I thought he earned the opportunity to get more snaps and to get the start.

The Spartans are fresh off a 36-28 victory against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in South Bend and look to continue the momentum against the Badgers.

I still don’t know quite what to think about Penn State.

“Great games, really good players, and I like to think really well-coached on both sides”, he said. They’ve beaten two sub-par teams soundly (although Wyoming didn’t exactly go quietly), and secured one of their best non-conference win in years by beating OR last week. They have posted a 5-4 mark in Power 5 games and a 4-3 record in games against ranked non-conference foes. That certainly isn’t going to be easy with a hard conference schedule. The front seven remained in tact mostly, with Watt now emulating his older brother’s tendencies but at outside linebacker to replace Schobert.

Well.they won a game. The conference has gone 3-0 against the Big 12 and 2-5 against the B1G, ACC, and SEC. “I wish (the bye) was a little later in the year, but I don’t spend a whole lot of time thinking about it”.

If anything, it’s a sign of greater things to come for the Badgers, who had a similar fate past year. Now the Badgers’ head coach, Chryst remembers those matchups fondly.

Which coach are we talking about? He played in the late 1980s at UW, he’s been an assistant, an offensive coordinator, and now leads the program. “We’ll see how we can capitalize on that”.

The national approach is focused on the College Football Playoff and the contenders.

Which reminds me! MY TOP FOUR: 1. Sure, they could have jumped Iowa, but really they haven’t done anything to deserve that. Yet. Saquon Barkley’s seven combined offensive touchdowns (6 rushing, 1 receiving) are the most through three games by a Penn State player since Lydell Mitchell had eight in 1971. The running back and kick returner is fourth in the nation with 562 all-purpose yards.

It starts this weekend with a visit to No. 8 Michigan State.

Defensively – contain the run and make Tyler O’Connor beat them.

Joel Stave threw for three touchdowns, and the Badgers defense flexed its collective muscle in a 58-0 win over Miami (Ohio) Saturday at Camp Randall Stadium. The Big Ten also is using a commemorative coin that honors both Sadler and Foltz for the pregame coin toss.
