David Beckham films himself taking on press up charity challenge
If you had any doubt of David Beckham‘s athleticism (and heart), a recent Instagram video puts that noise to rest.

The soccer stud stripped down to his skivvies on Thursday to participate in the 22 Push Up Challenge that so many celebrities are taking part in. “I’m lying on piano and I thought I’d bring a pianist with me”, he said after completing the challenge.
Similar to the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge that went viral in 2014, nominees have to keep the message going, Beckham has nominated his son Brooklyn and actor Justin Theroux to take up the challenge next. At the end of the video, you find out that he’s on the 17th floor of a building and that there is actually a guy who was playing the piano the entire time.
In his initial post from Wednesday, Daddy Beckham explained that the initiative raises awareness about an alarming statistic: 22 American military veterans commit suicide in a day, according to an analysis by the Department of Veterans Affairs. On day one, he completed the challenge while on an airplane at 33,000 feet. “This is me accepting your challenge Dad to honour the 22 Service men that kill themselves daily”.
He wrote alongside the video: “So my lovely friend Mr Guy Richie the film maker and supreme athlete has nominated me to do 22 press ups consecutively for 22 days (and by the way his challenge was that I do my first lot at 44,000 feet as he knows I’m travelling)”.
Beckham said: “I am doing what Guy (Ritchie), Jason (Statham) and Charlie (Hunnam) are doing and supporting, respecting and appreciating all the service men and women and their sacrifice”. The goal is to reach 22 million push-ups.
However, while David Beckham is arguably the sexiest creature on the planet, his goal in posting this steamy video isn’t just to get us all hot and bothered.

On day two, he did his push-ups atop a piano…that was being played by his friend David Gardner. “This cause is too important to me”.
