Original Belle Endorses Emma Watson in ‘Beauty and the Beast’ Remake

In an interview with USA Today, Paige O’Hara chatted about both films, and saved plenty of praise for Emma Watson, who will play Belle in the new version.

Paige O’Hara, who voiced Belle in the 1991 Oscar-winning hit, has spoken highly of her successor in the role.

Imagine. Belle kisses the Beast as the last rose petal falls, his monstrous visage metamorphosing into Jamie f*cking T. The pair then launch into an up-tempo version of “Tale as Old as Time”, complete with stabs of guitar and a rapped verse from Jamie. Discover its opinion immediately!

“I’ve been asked to do musicals”, he said, “and I got asked past year to audition for Beauty And The Beat”. “I remember being here 25 years ago, introducing the movie going, ‘God, I hope people don’t rush the stage or run out, ‘” Hahn told E! The actress attended the Lincoln Center in NY to promote the 25th-anniversary edition of Disney’s classic film, and delighted the audience with a lovely performance of “Tale As Old As Time”.

Beauty and the Beast premiered as an unfinished film at the New York Film Festival on September 29, 1991, and the team behind it reunited for a screening on September 18, 2016. I can’t wait for you to see it. Emma xx’.
