Vikings DT Sharrif Floyd has surgery on right knee
Peterson was injured in Sunday night’s victory over Green Bay. During the Vikings’ five-game win streak previous year, as they ascended out of obscurity and to the top of the NFC North, Zimmer occasionally went searching for naysayers, or asked team officials to find him a statistic he could use to rile up his players.

But whatever the road ahead is for the running back position with the Vikings, it doesn’t look like it will be a road traveled by Adrian Peterson anymore, and his Hall of Fame career with the Vikings will end not with a bang, but with a torn meniscus.
“Adrian Peterson had a successful lateral meniscus fix this morning”.
Vikings coach Mike Zimmer acknowledged on Wednesday that Peterson’s injury could be season-ending.
Adrian Peterson will have his torn meniscus repaired despite initial word that the injury was not as serious.
It’s yet another blow to Minnesota’s offense.
The Vikings have sent three starters into surgery this week. “Could be season-ending. Could be three weeks, four weeks”. Jerick McKinnon will start at Carolina. The Vikings also signed Ronnie Hillman, who had 863 yards and seven touchdowns rushing last season for Denver.
The result today, however, says Peterson had the meniscus fully repaired, meaning a much longer recovery time. His recovery will be crucial, if everything goes smoothly he will be able to return before the season ends. He was operated on by team physician Dr. Chris Larson, who performed Peterson’s procedure at Twin Cities Orthopedics the day before. He has what he said is a “bucket handle tear”. “I met him a couple times and told him he’s a great player”.
Minnesota’s regular season ends January 1. Interestingly enough, the team insists that is Peterson’s only injury. I think if you go back a year ago and look at the things that happened you know we’re not the type of team that’s going to sit back and cry about what’s happening. “I know everybody is all concerned about we don’t have this, we don’t have that”. The Vikings tried to remedy that by giving up a first-round pick for Sam Bradford, who played well in his first game in Minnesota last week.
“I didn’t even know he was hurt”, Fackrell said, “until I got up and went back to – not the huddle – but went back and got ready for the next play, and he was still on the ground”. It just seems like his ability to make something out of nothing, along with his ability to overcome eight and nine men in the box, seems to have been greatly diminished.
Guard Alex Boone said Bradford having stepped in so well for Bridgewater gives the Vikings confidence they also can overcome the losses of Peterson and Kalil.
National Football League spokesman Brian McCarthy said Gordon’s eligibility is not affected by the paternity issue. “Bad things happen all the time”. “Before you couldn’t hardly get any words out of him, so now he’s a lot more vocal”.
