Prior to losing her title, however, “Cupcake” was riding an impressive five-fight win streak in which she capped off by defeating Holly Holm at UFC 196 to secure her first career UFC title.

Jedrzejczyk’s 115-pound matchup with Kowalkiewicz will be the second title fight featured on UFC 205’s main card, as UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley is also scheduled to defend his belt opposite Karate king Stephen Thompson.
Promotional officials announced the contest on Friday, as well as a bantamweight clash pitting ex-champ Miesha Tate against Raquel Pennington.
Jedrzejczyk (12-0) and Kowalkiewicz (10-0) have won all nine of their Octagon fights and both mentioned New York City and November as a potential date for their bout if Poland was out of the question.
Flo Combat reported the news of the bout, shortly after Jedrzejczyk posted a photo of herself on Instagram with a freshly signed bout agreement. The win brought her record to a flawless 10-0. “I hope now I showed everybody that I can fight with her”.
She has since defended the fight in three consecutive fights, beating Jessica Penne, Valerie Letourneau, and Claudia Gadelha.

Most recently Kowalkiewicz cemented her top contender status with a tough split decision win over Rose Namajunas at UFC 201.
