New move: Pro wrestling star CM Punk making debut in UFC 203
During the “Backlash” event, Dolph Ziggler and “The Miz” opened their match with a carbon copy homage to the Punk vs. Gall fight with a big slam to start things before a near rear-naked choke finish a few seconds later. “It was a hell of a climb, I didn’t get to the summit tonight but it doesn’t mean I’m going to give up it doesn’t mean I’m going anywhere, it doesn’t mean I’m going to stop”. Gall took Punk down nearly immediately, beat him up on the mat and made him tap to the rear-naked choke.

Punk faces Gall as a huge underdog in his first ever MMA fight on Saturday night after making the switch from the WWE. “But it’s not like I fought a good fight”, Punk said, as quoted by MMAJunkie.
“I know there’s doubters, but life is about falling down and getting back up”.
Compared to Punk, Gall had more experience in MMA which provided him the upper hand in their fight. “But I know I’m better than that”, he said.
Punk, who dominated the wrestling scene at the WWE for a number of years, signed with the UFC way back in December, 2014 and was scheduled to make his debut in 2015.
“I see a lot of hate for this guy online”.
CM Punk always had a dream to fight in the octagon, which came true at UFC 203. “I definitely want to keep going”.
And they certainly don’t earn a 0,000 guaranteed purse and a pay-per-view main card spot for their first fight in the company. I think all of us CM Punk fans would like to move on from this and erase this moment from our memories. While talking to Fight Network after UFC 203, White revealed his reasons for allowing Punk a shot in the octagon.
Punk said that he hasn’t talked to Dana White yet.
