The very first episode of Doctor Who back in 1963 had scenes that took place at the Coal Hill School, where we first meet The Doctor’s granddaughter Susan Foreman (Carole Ann Ford) as well as two teachers, Ian Chesterton and Barbara Wright, who would go on to be The Doctor’s first time-traveling companions.
Peter Capaldi will join the cast of exciting new talent in the opening episode of the series, For Tonight We Might Die.
The upcoming Doctor Who spinoff series, Class, will debut in the United Kingdom on October 22, BBC has announced.
However, when the school comes under attack, four alienated students will form an unlikely alliance to defeat them and will be the beginning of a unique friendship.
The series is created by Patrick Ness and includes intriguing and complex characters that have to navigate their way through more than just teenage hormones, exams and detention. The first two episodes feature guets appearances from Ben Peel, Anna Shaffer, Paul Marc Davies and Shannon Murray.
“At last, we can tell you a little more about Class!”. That’s how these things are done.
It seems a bit odd that we haven’t seen much promotion for Class – we haven’t even seen a proper trailer yet, despite the fact that this show debuts in the U.K.in about a month – but we can surely expect to get much more when Class hits New York Comic-Con.
Capaldi said: “The Doctor Who family is growing, and it’s fantastic to be able to welcome the young new cast of Class in to the Whoniverse”.
The “Class” presentation will feature a sneak peek of the show plus a panel consisting of stars Austin, Elsayed, Hopkins and Oparah along with creator and executive producer Ness and executive producer Brian Minchin. Limited tickets will be available via the BBC Shows and Tours website.

Unfortunately, we still do not know when “Doctor Who” season 10 will premiere, but it will at some point in 2017.
