LONDON, Sept 18 Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane pounced on a piece of comical defending to secure a 1-0 win over Sunderland in the Premier League on Sunday although he was later wheeled away on a stretcher after suffering an ankle injury. “Only we have to wait, to see tomorrow”, Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino said after the match. “In the changing room after the game, it was a bit sad and we were very disappointed”.

“Marcus is an exciting talent”, said Pochettino.
Pochettino says “there are different rumors, we can not guess whether it’s eight weeks, 10, four, one”. “It’s impossible to assess today and to know how long it will be”.
There would be an impact, too, on Sam Allardyce’s England team, given Kane would miss next month’s World Cup qualifiers against Malta and Slovenia, and the eagerly anticipated visit of Scotland to Wembley on 11 November.
“We were in the game but we also have to be truthful – it was tough”, Moyes said.
Speaking at the Spurs training ground in Enfield yesterday, Pochettino said his belief in Janssen had been confirmed after he watched him play in the Ireland versus Holland friendly in Dublin in May. “We’re not expecting any big issues”, Pochettino added. Tottenham signed Janssen and built squad depth to handle whatever came their way this season.

Kane is not thought to have suffered any kind of fracture, but is believed to have damaged ankle ligaments.
Kane was the match-winner against the Black Cats, however, his late fall consolidated a bittersweet weekend for Spurs fans, who also saw Eric Dier and Mousa Dembele depart with hamstring cramp.
