Cesc Fabregas: I have point to prove to Chelsea boss Antonio Conte

All my team-mates deserve respect.

Personally I would like to see Ruben Loftus-Cheek in the Chelsea team too – he has not played at all in the Premier League so far this season, and I don’t know why.

“There’s the possibility of him starting tomorrow but I have another day to make the decision”. In front of Kante will be Oscar and Nemanja Matic despite Cesc Fabregas putting in another good performance when given a chance by Conte, midweek.

But the numbers support the argument that Conte must find a way to fit Fabregas into his team. Chelsea conceded 55 [53] goals last season. The pass he provided for Diego Costa to score after stepping off the substitutes’ bench against Watford last month could not have been weighted better.

“I always give my everything”, he told reporters after his brace against Leicester in the EFL Cup. To be physically strong.

Mesut Ozil is one of the most elusive footballers in world football, though, and pinning him down in the midfield maelstrom will be a massive challenge.

“This is very important because it showed the will to win and to go into the next round”. Every time I have entered [the pitch], I have felt really good. We must work a lot on this aspect.

“I don’t know [when he’ll be back]”. After 13 years I know myself very, very well.

“Arsenal is a special fixture because I’ve lived moments there that I’ve never lived in my career. I’m pleased for him, because in the games when he didn’t start he always had a great attitude”, the manager said. But the coach chooses 11 he thinks is best suited to win the game. A win over one of the Premier League’s apex outfits would kickstart their campaign into life.

In addition, Fabregas made it clear he’s still got the appetite to succeed at Chelsea on Tuesday night.

Kurt Zouma remains sidelined as he continues his recovery from a serious knee injury sustained in a Premier League match against Manchester United in February, but Conte revealed that the Frenchman is close to making a significant step forward in his recovery.

From 1996 to 2006 nearly everything he touched turned to gold as Arsenal won three Premier League titles, four FA Cups, went a season unbeaten in 2003-04 and reached the Champions League final.

I fear that Conte will get similar treatment if Chelsea have a bad spell over the next few weeks, even though he is still adapting and working out how he wants to play.

“All the players in my squad are a possibility to play against Arsenal, there are three days before the game and they have the opportunity to convince me to put them in”.
