Five people were taken into custody Sunday night in connection with Saturday’s explosion in Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood, following a traffic stop conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and NYPD on the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge, which connects the New York City boroughs of Brooklyn and Staten Island, sources tell ABC News.

Security has been stepped up as members of the United Nations General Assembly gather in NY for a summit Monday.

It’s not immediately clear whether Rahami has a lawyer who can comment on the charges.

The governor added that while no worldwide group had claimed responsibility for planting the explosive device, any bomb exploding in NY was terrorism “generically”.

NEW YORK-Investigators sifted through blast remnants Sunday, examined video and scoured the scene of an explosion that wounded 29 people in Manhattan, attempting to establish if there were any links to global terrorism. All the injured had been released from the hospital by Sunday afternoon.

Surveillance footage shows the same man near the explosion, and where the pressure cooker was found.

Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton said she had been briefed “about the bombings in NY and New Jersey and the attack in Minnesota”.

Rahami remains hospitalized with gunshot wounds from a shootout with police that led to his capture Monday outside a bar in Linden, New Jersey. Rahami has brown hair, brown eyes and brown facial hair.

“A bomb exploding in New York is obviously an act of terrorism, but it’s not linked to global terrorism”, Democratic New York Governor Andrew Cuomo said yesterday after touring the scene of the explosion in Chelsea.

New York’s Governor Andrew Cuomo says the bombing that wounded 29 people does not have any links to “international terrorism”.

The attacker has been named as 22-year-old Dahir A. Adan, according to two Somali community leaders who are in direct contact with his family.

Police confirmed that the assailant asked some victims whether they were Muslim before attacking them and made “references to Allah”. “We need to get this guy in right away”, de Blasio said on CNN.

Authorities in New York City are working to determine whether there was any connection between several explosive devices found in two states in two days.

The FBI and New Jersey State Police reportedly used a drone and determined that the device could be a bomb.

No-one has been charged with any crime and the investigation is continuing.

Investigators continue to search for links between two bombs planted in the Chelsea area of Manhattan on Saturday night, one of which exploded injuring 29 people. I think we’re going to know a lot more in the course of the day.

The reports of a possible blast comes hours after a pipe bomb exploded in Seaside Park, New Jersey, shortly before thousands of runners participated in a charity 5K race to benefit Marines and sailors.

Investigators are also examining a suspicious device found near a train station in Elizabeth, New Jersey.

The restaurant, First American Fried Chicken, is owned by Rahami’s father and has also employed some of his brothers, Elizabeth Mayor Christian Bollwage said. CBS News has learned Rahami has traveled to Afghanistan at least three times – perhaps as recently as 2014 – and visited Pakistan on at least one of those trips.
