What a hard time for the family.

“We are comforted by the fact that Alexis came into our family and was our brother and then our sister, and that she gave us so much love”. Before her transition, she appeared in “Of Mice and Men”, “Pulp Fiction”, “The Wedding Singer”, “Bride of Chucky”, “She’s All That”, “Xena: Warrior Princess” and “Friends”, and had completed filming on an upcoming drama called “Citizens” before her death. Meanwhile, her ex-husband, Alexis’s brother David also broke his silence following his sister’s death with a statement on social media. “As per his wishes, we cheered at the moment that he transitioned to another dimension”, he wrote.

Her family confirmed to TMZ that she died early on Sunday morning in Los Angeles surrounded by loved ones, who serenaded her with David Bowie’s song Starman as she passed. I am immensely grateful that it was fast and painless. “It was an incredibly moving experience and I am humbled and grateful to have been able to have been with him as he began his journey onward”, he wrote. “Another bright light gone out far too soon”, Boy George tweeted, adding in a statement that “Alexis Arquette was a force of nature” whose portrayal of him in The Wedding Singer “had me rolling on the floor with laughter”. “Love to the family and all that loved Alexis”.

Alexis starred in a number of films and TV shows throughout her career.
