On Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 Radio show today (September 15), Gaga phoned in to announce the title and release date of LG5.

Lady Gaga recently revealed the lead single from the album, “Perfect Illusion”, which is a collaboration with Mark Ronson (who is co-executive producing the album), Kevin Parker from Tame Impala, and BloodPop. The title is a tribute to the singer’s late aunt, who died at the young age of 19 from lupus in 1974.
“Every single song.is extremely autobiographical and all about me as my father’s daughter and my mother’s daughter and just an Italian-American girl, city girl, that is now venturing off into new territory”, she said. She has revealed that she has also been betrayed by those closest to her, and that those experiences will be reflected on the new album. She revealed on Apple’s Beat 1 Radio that her much-anticipated project will drop on October 21.
Gaga admits, “there’s definitely a bittersweetness to [finishing the album]”, but acknowledges “this isn’t the end just the end of this moment”.

The singer also shared a short clip of the video that features her in a black t-shirt and denim shorts, dancing in a desert while swinging a microphone around. Gaga said that the album is named after her father’s late sister.
Perhaps taking a page from pop superstar, Taylor Swift, Illusion is rumored to be about Gaga’s breakup with fiancé, Taylor Kinney. She made waves for her performance in the fifth season of American Horror Story a year ago, winning a Golden Globe for Best Actress – Miniseries or Television Film in January. Perfect Illusion is another classic in Gaga’s dance-ready discography and a perfect way of saying, she’s back.
