The latest trouble erupted after a peaceful rally was held earlier in the evening by protesters who reject the official account of how Mr Keith Lamont Scott, 43, was gunned down by a black police officer in the carpark of an apartment complex on Tuesday.

A man shot in uptown Charlotte during a protest over the fatal police shooting of Keith Lamont Scott died Thursday at Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said.

In the days leading up to the debate, both Clinton and Trump have been confronted with questions about police violence after the North Carolina shooting and a separate incident in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where a white police officer was charged with manslaughter in the fatal shooting of an unarmed black man whose vehicle had broken down in the middle of the street.

Charlotte Police Chief Kerr Putney agreed to let Scott’s family watch those tapes, but refuses to share it publicly.

Pressure grows on Charlotte police to release shooting video was posted in World of TheNews International – https://www.thenews.com.pk on September 23, 2016 and was last updated on September 23, 2016.

Police later claimed that the protester was not shot by officers at all, according to the Associate Press. “Quite frankly, we don’t know what’s on the video”, Bamberg said. His family was shown the footage Thursday and demanded that police release it to the public.

U.S. Rep. Robert Pittenger, a Republican whose district includes parts of Charlotte, was asked by an interviewer for Britain’s BBC TV what grievance the protesters have.

In Charlotte, scores of rioters Wednesday night attacked reporters and others, set fires and smashed windows of hotels, office buildings and restaurants in the city’s bustling downtown section.

There is no word if a suspected shooter has been named in Carr’s death.

Blurring an already confusing picture, Police Chief Kerr Putney said Thursday: “The video does not give me absolute, definitive, visual evidence that would confirm that a person is pointing a gun” – adding that other witnesses and evidence suggested that was the case.

The lawyer said at a news conference earlier in the day that Scott’s wife saw him get shot, “and that’s something she will never, ever forget”.

Scott’s wife, Rakeiya Scott, also released a statement asking for protesters to remain calm.

Protesters say: Police may have profiled Scott because of his race.

Four police officers also suffered non-life-threatening injuries, city officials said. Officers have said Scott was wielding a weapon, while Scott’s family said he was grasping a book. “I’m telling you right now if you think I say we should display a victim’s worst day for consumption; that is not the transparency I’m speaking of”. “At this point, there is speculation because the videos have not been released”.
