Washington State Patrol spokesman Mark Francis said on Twitter that survivors were being taken to a nearby church.

About 20 minutes after Sgt. Francis tweeted the number of fatalities, he tweeted, “EMS starting to enter to attend to injured inside Mall w/ police escort and after initial clearance”.

Sgt Mark Francis says authorities are searching for a man wearing grey who was last seen walking towards a highway from the mall.

There was no immediate information on the deceased victims, nor was it clear whether there had been any injuries.

“Please avoid Cascade Mall area in Burlington”, the official said, adding ” Follow all road closures”.

The shooter walked into Macy’s and opened fire, KOMO reported.
