Vikings place Adrian Peterson on injured reserve after surgery
Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson had “successful” surgery on his right knee on Thursday and will begin rehabilitation immediately, although the National Football League team gave no date for his return.

Minnesota Vikings left tackle Matt Kalil has undergone surgery to fix a labrum tear in his right hip.
The Vikings (2-0) play at Carolina (1-1) on Sunday. They can still only bring back one player, though, which means that if both Peterson and offensive tackle Matt Kalil somehow find themselves in a position to return to the field, the team can only bring one of them back. Kalil’s contract will expire after this season.
Peterson had surgery to fix a torn lateral meniscus on Thursday, four days after leaving Minnesota’s home opener against the Green Bay Packers with a knee injury.
Floyd’s procedure was performed by Dr. James Andrews at the Andrews Institute in Pensacola, Fla. No timetable for his return has been provided by the team, but Floyd had a similar operation done last season on the left knee. Vikings coach Mike Zimmer, however, conceded…
“He’s getting better as a pass rusher”. “Before you couldn’t hardly get any words out of him, so now he’s a lot more vocal”.
“I think there’s a good possibility”, Zimmer said.

The 31-year-old’s injury comes just weeks after the Vikings watched starting quarterback Teddy Bridgewater suffer a season-ending knee injury. Diggs was not listed on the injury report, meaning he will play on Sunday.
