The source reportedly told authorities that Brad began screaming and “getting physical” with his children on a private jet, possibly under the influence, and then continued ranting after the plane landed.
According to reports, Pitt had been drinking at the time of the incident and s everal media outlets, using anonymous sources, have reported that the Ocean’s Eleven star is under investigation by a child welfare agency after allegedly clashing with one of his children, reportedly his adopted 15-year-old son Maddox. It’s unfortunate for the whole family that people are insisting on continuing this endless smear campaign against Brad that hurts everyone.
UPDATE: In new developments, according to KTLA5, the Los Angeles Police Department has denied reports they are now investigating child abuse accusations against Brad Pitt.
Sources familiar with the allegations, but not authorized to speak publicly, say the child welfare investigation centres on Pitt’s treatment of his son Maddox, 15, during an argument during the September 14 flight. ET has also reached out to the Pitt and Jolie’s reps as well as the LAPD. Jolie and Pitt are in India’s financial hub – Mumbai to shoot for her film “A Mighty Heart”, based on the life of the slain Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl in which Jolie portrays Marianne – wife of Daniel Pearl.
“We have no report in our record for any filings for Brad Pitt, we are not having any investigations regarding Brad Pitt”, police spokesman Lorenzo Quezada said.
However, a source close to Brad strenuously denied the allegations, telling TMZ: “He takes the matter very seriously and says he did not commit any abuse of his children.
Jolie’s attorney, Robert Offer, released the following statement to CNN when the news broke: “This decision was made for the health of the family”.
“They always had disagreements when it came to disciplining the kids”, an insider told People.
Pitt is now in Los Angeles. “I kindly ask the press to give them the space they deserve during this challenging time”.
