National poll: Clinton leads Trump by 6 ahead of debate

Hillary Clinton has her faults, certainly, but she has spent a lifetime working to improve the lives of Americans both inside and outside of Washington. (And please enough already with the “I was in the room when we took out bin Laden.”) On the stump she hasn’t been pressed hard to account for meaningful accomplishments. Who knows, you might catch some ironically timed movie trailers.

But will those to the left of Clinton hold their noses, cringe, close their eyes and end up pulling the lever for Clinton just to prevent a Trump presidency in November? Some veterans of the foreign-policy world express their preferences during each election.

With neither candidate a clear favourite on issues like creating jobs or keeping the nation safe, almost a third of uncommitted voters said they may be more likely to vote for a third-party candidate than for either Clinton or Trump. The whole thing is tragic.

Meanwhile, Trump prefers not to do 90-minute mock debate. It’s everyone who’s ever doubted Donald, who ever disagreed, who ever challenged him. As first lady, she unsuccessfully fought for universal health care but helped to create the Children’s Health Insurance Program that provides health care to more than 8 million kids today.

Clinton is similarly watching tape of Trump’s Republican primary debates, according to several people familiar with her debate preparation. Barack Obama had “Change you can believe in”.

Trump’s temperament, and his comments about women and minorities, is expected to come up in Monday’s nationally televised faceoff – especially amid escalating racial tensions in many communities following the police shootings of black men in Oklahoma and North Carolina.

Countless Americans are hurting, angry and anxious about the corruptions of our political system and a financial system that is rigged against them. Lyndon Johnson was going to show the Ivy-League boys who looked down on him. The exception was possibly the very first TV debate in 1960, which pitted the then vice-president, Richard Nixon, against John F. Kennedy. Jimmy Carter was hyper-conscious of anti-Southern snobbery.

But what we’re seeing with this man is something new. Commission officials announced on September 16 that neither Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson nor Green Party candidate Jill Stein had enough standing to qualify for the first debate. But this is not a traditional race, and these are not traditional times.

Together, we will rebuild this country beyond our greatest dreams. “We need a leader who will bring out the best in all Americans, not the worst”, the endorsement reads.

Mike Pence on Thursday dug up former President Bill Clinton’s affair with White House intern Monica Lewinsky as part of an effort to undermine Hillary Clinton’s “character” and fitness for the presidency.

I am a Democrat by voting history and small-l liberal in most policy preferences.

“With Trump and Hillary at heads with each other, bat with each other, it’s a really exciting debate and time to be on campus”, he said.

When asked what advice he would give Hillary Clinton ahead of Monday’s debate with Trump, Obama said she should be herself and explain what motivates her. The hashtag #BasketofDeplorables began trending on Twitter, as the Republican nominee’s backers demanded an apology. His refusal to release his tax returns draws into question both Trump’s true income and whether he is paying his fair share of taxes.

Trump himself even praised the idea of former Texas Gov. Rick Perry running against Cruz in 2018.

He has also sought for a database to track Muslims across the United States and said that the USA would have “absolutely no choice” but to close down mosques.
