Irish returns for Galaxy Note 7’s started – here’s how to do it

On Monday, another user posted on a social media account that his Note 7 also had exploded. And on Friday, the FAA officially banned its use on planes as part of a broader-reaching prohibition covering “lithium batteries and lithium battery powered devices when they are the subject of a safety recall or when the lithium battery has been identified by the manufacturer as having a safety defect”. South Korea’s government has not issued an official recall like its counterparts in the USA and Canada, and for consumers in South Korea to get a full refund for the Note 7, Monday is the deadline.

If your device is affected (which ours was), you’ll receive the following message: “Your Galaxy Note7 is an affected device and is subject to this recall”.

Samsung followed up last week by announcing that USA consumers who had purchased one of the recalled phones could choose between a replacement or a refund for the device, which sells for about $850. Samsung wasn’t expected to have to recall phones in the world’s largest consumer market because it used a different battery supplier there, ensuring it could still make money in China even as it was losing it elsewhere.

Samsung says that there have been almost 100 reports of overheating Galaxy Note 7s in the us, including 26 reports of people being burned by their Note 7s. So the question is, when will sales of the Note 7 resume?

“According to the burn marks on the sample, we surmise that the source of the heating comes from outside the battery, and it’s very likely that there was an external factor causing the heating problem”, the battery maker said in a statement.

NCAA in a statement signed by Mr Sam Adurogboye general manager public affairs said in addition that these phones must not be stowed away in any checked-in baggage.

Concerning customers who may have bought the Galaxy Note 7 either online or through other channels, Padayachy said FTC is strongly advising them to replace the product. That account gave no contact information for the user or details of where the person lives but showed photos of the damaged phone and its serial number. The Chief of Samsung’s Mobile Division, Koh Dong Jin, during the announcement, said that around 2.5 million units of Galaxy Note 7 have already sold out, and most consumers reported about its defective battery. However the Note 7 never made it to the India market as the sale of the device was called off globally a day before the phone was to start selling in India. The update adds a green battery indicator to new Note 7 models outfitted with a safe battery.
