Brad Pitt Not Being Investigated By LAPD for Child Abuse (Statement)

In a statement, the Federal Bureau of Investigation confirmed it was aware of allegations involving an “aircraft carrying Mr Brad Pitt and his children”.

An initial report from TMZ stated that the Los Angeles Police Department and L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services were investigating the incident.

The alleged incident took place on a private jet in flight between France and the U.S., so it falls under the FBI’s jurisdiction.

Pitt is under investigation by USA authorities after being accused of physically and verbally abusing his children during an angry outburst, TMZ reported.

The LA County Department of Child and Family Services told us they are legally prohibited from commenting on whether or not someone is under investigation.

According to the divorce filing, Jolie cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the filing and she’s seeking sole custody of the couple’s six children. The National Transportation Safety Board explains on its website that in aviation incidents involving suspected criminal activity other agencies may be involved in the investigation. The DCFS reportedly began its investigation after someone anonymously reported the incident that allegedly occurred on the tarmac where the couple’s private jet had landed.

The news site said the incident prompted Angelina Jolie to file for divorce the following Tuesday. The source also said “the abuse suggestions are inaccurate”.

– Los Angeles Police told The Hollywood Reporter that they are not investigating actor Brad Pitt on any allegations.

A source tells the New York Post, that the 52-year-old actor is very upset about allegations that he hit the children and “is denying claims of inappropriate behavior”. In the divorce document obtained by ABC News, the estranged couple’s date of separation was listed as September 15. “I kindly ask the press to give them the space they deserve during this challenging time”.

A source said at the time: “The final divorce decision was only made one week ago”.
