911 transcript: Club gunman said US must stop Syria strikes

A patron hiding inside the Pulse gay nightclub as a gunman carried out the worst mass shooting in modern USA history whispered to a dispatcher on a 911 call, “He is going to kill us”. He was also convinced that the US and Russian Federation were working together to kill innocent women and children.

The gunman who slaughtered 49 people in an Orlando, Florida, nightclub told a police negotiator the attack was a protest against US bombings of Islamic State targets in Iraq and Syria.

About an hour after the shooting started, a police dispatcher called a fire dispatcher to say they believe there’s an SUV in the club’s parking lot with explosive tied to it. “What am I to do here when my people are getting killed over there?”.

Shooter Omar Mateen killed 49 people and wounded 53 at the Pulse nightclub in the deadliest mass shooting in modern United States history. The transcripts show a first glimpse of the investigation into Mateen after he called 911 to pledge allegiance…

A crisis negotiator in later phone calls at 2:48 a.m. and 2:56 a.m. tried to get information about what weapons Mateen had and whether there was anyone else with him.

Mateen then interrupted: “You need to stop the USA air strikes”. “Look, I’m trying to figure out how to keep you safe and how to get this resolved peacefully because I’m not a politician”, the negotiator tells Mateen.

Over and over to the negotiator, Mateen said that USA airstrikes need to end, that he felt the pain of those killed in Syria and Iran.

Statements from the Arizona Supreme Court equating diaper-changing to child molestation and the provocative social media headlines that followed have left parents nervous that one day they will need an attorney more than a.

He also tells the negotiator there are vehicles outside the club with bombs that can “take out a whole city block, and at one point refers to one of the Boston Marathon bombers as “my homeboy”. He also told an Orlando police hostage negotiator that his name was “Islamic soldier” and “Mujahideen”.

A police tactical team would end up waiting until 5:05 a.m. before storming the building and killing Mateen. Mateen said. “They should have not bombed and killed Abu Wahid”.

Mateen, “That’s what triggered it, OK?”

Mina said during the three calls that Mateen made, dozens of people were pulled to safety from inside the club.

In his conversations with the police negotiator, Mateen repeatedly complained about civilians killed by USA airstrikes in Syria and Iraq.

The negotiator, “No, I am treating you like an adult”.
