Jayalalithaa was admitted to Apollo Hospital late on Thursday and was under observation and on normal diet, the hospital said.

Nearly her entire Cabinet of Ministers was present at the hospital, where security arrangements were tight. She won the election for the second consecutive term in the state, which used to follow a pattern where DMK and AIADMK would win alternative terms.
“Reports that the Tamil Nadu CM will travel to Singapore for treatment are just rumours”, she reiterated.
Jayalalithaa complained of “fever and dehydration” and was admitted in Apollo Hospitals, in the early hours on Friday. “Her fever has come down”, AIADMK spokesperson CR Saraswathi told ANI. “People’s prayers and God’s blessings are always with you”, he added.
In a signed statement issued here, Jayalalithaa said she felt very sad on hearing about the demise of Pradeep. The Chief Minister thanked the Prime Minister and Governor for their messages. Opposition leader M Karunanidhi in a message said, “Though we have ideological differences, I wish Jayalalithaa recovers and gets back to her office soon”.

Two sources who work closely with the Chief Minister told The News Minute that there was no such plan now and they were hopeful of her getting discharged in a day or two. The Muslims across the State offered special prayers in the mosques to wish her a speedy recovery.
