“It is very interesting for us and exciting to come to this city and have a good level of comparison to where we are this season with everybody else”.

Santi Cazorla’s controversial stoppage-time penalty was enough to give Arsenal victory over Southampton in their Premier League meeting at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday. “Honestly, everyone is telling me it was a penalty, but I’ve not yet seen it again”.

Under Emery, PSG have had a hard start to the season and were involved in late drama in their weekend game as St Etienne scored in the final minute on Friday to force a 1-1 draw.

Back in 2008, well before Qatar Sports Investments took over at PSG, the appointment of Wenger’s close friend Charles Villeneuve as president led to speculation that the Arsenal manager would follow him to the French capital. “We are used to the intensity of the Champions League”. I don’t like to speak of the decision of the referee, but we have conceded, in four games in the championship, three penalties. They’re a team with a lot of good, technically proficient individual players. The Brazil worldwide has not played for his club since a pre-season friendly against Real Madrid but Emery is keen for him to be involved.

Arsenal face PSG on Tuesday night with a 7:45pm kick-off.

Arsene Wenger also confirmed that Koscielny is fit to start against PSG tomorrow evening.

In contrast, PSG won their first two Ligue 1 matches, but have since lost to Monaco before drawing 1-1 with Saint Etienne on Friday. Confidence is spread around between the players, spread within the squad. He played very well, because he helped us get back into the game after we started not fluent and not pacey.

If Wenger thinks Cazorla may need a rest then Mohamed Elneny is pushing for a recall or he could stick with Francis Coquelin but I still think we’ll see the little maestro keep his place.

The Gunners manager, whose side are set to take on Unai Emery’s team in their Champions League group stage opener, insists that their hosts will never be the same without the services of Ibrahimovic.
