The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Nawaz Sharif on Friday claimed that Uri terror attack at the Army camp in Jammu and Kashmir leading to the death of 18 Indian soldiers could be a “reaction” of the people to the situation prevailing in Kashmir.

To a question about Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) planned accountability campaign and march to Raiwind, Shah said it was the PTI’s internal matter and as such he did not want to comment on it. “In my recent tour to US, I have seen a shift in the thinking of senators and Congressmen who have very openly raised the issue of terrorism as a global threat today”, he said.

India being a victim of terrorism has found resonance around the world, he said. “That is why globally we are getting all the support thanks to Modiji’s leadership who have been accepted as a global leader today”.

“How could India accuse Pakistan only hours after the Uri incident without holding any inquiry or investigation”, Sharif said, according to Pakistani media reports, adding that the world was aware of the “atrocities” that the Indian government carries out in Kashmir. It also defeated Pakistan in all World Cup cricket matches.

Claiming that the mental and physical health of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) founder Altaf Hussain was not sound, he said the party’s leaders in Pakistan had pledged allegiance to the country and that “we should trust them”. “It can decimate Pakistan anytime but it is more important to isolate it globally”.
