Murrells Inlet, S.C.- A teenager is being treated in South Carolina for a possible shark bite.
The teen was in chest-deep water at the time of the incident.
A 15-year-old was injured when he was bitten by a shark Thursday while swimming just south of Myrtle Beach, WMBF reported.
The boy suffered non-life threatening injuries, authorities say, and the bleeding was controlled with simple bandages; the teen was taken to a local hospital for additional treatment.
In June, two minors in North Carolina lost limbs in separate shark attacks.
Four of those incidents were “unprovoked”, which means the human did not attack, spear or fish the shark, according to the file.
