A manhunt was underway after a gunman killed at least three people and wounded two others late Friday during a shooting at a mall in the USA state ofWashington.

The Washington State Patrol says three females were killed and one male critically injured Friday night at the Cascade Mall in Burlington, north of Seattle. Police said they can not yet be certain that the man in the grey hoodie was the only suspect and are canvassing witnesses.
His motive or relationship to the women, if any, were unclear.
Stephanie Bose, an assistant general manager at Johnny Carino’s Italian restaurant near Cascade Mall in Burlington, Washington, told The Associated Press the shooting happened inside the Macy’s department store.

Brandi Montreuil told CNN she was at the movies when attendants told them to leave. The attacker was killed on scene by an off-duty police officer.
An officer “with a large gun started yelling for people to leave, and fast”, she said. KIRO7-TV said five people were shot altogether.
Some of the people dashed out of the Macy’s store, unsure of where to go.
“Survivors inside the mall will be transported via bus to “His Place” church corner”, Sergeant Francis wrote half-an-hour after he arrived on the scene.
Skagit County Department of Emergency Management is urging people to avoid the mall area. Those who left their cars at the mall were told to check back the next day.
A high school football game had been going on nearby, and the children were all evacuated to keep them safe, according to Reddit user krutter9900, who was near the mall at the time. “Stay inside and obviously report anything suspicious that they may see”. Francis said the number fluctuated as authorities searched the shopping center.
