Jose Mourinho hits out at critics in defiant interview

Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho, has slammed people he described as football “Einsteins” for hastily writing him and his Manchester United team off following series of poor results.

In a Premier League fixture played on September 10 at the same venue, the Citizens ran away with a 2-1 win as goals from Kevin De Bryune and Kelechi Iheanacho for City and a Zlatan Ibrahimovic solitary strike ensured victory for the away team.

United had lost their previous three fixtures heading into the game; against Manchester City in the Manchester Derby, Feyenoord in the Europa League and Watford in the league last Sunday at Vicarage Road.

“Now we need to keep winning games, it has been a bad week, but after this win we can face Leicester in a more positive way this weekend”.

Jose Mourinho has hit out at “football Einsteins” who he claims have tried to dismiss his career triumphs during a hard week for Manchester United.

“We got the win last night, we’ve got three home games coming up before the global break and it’s important we try to win all three of them and get our season back on track”, said Rooney.

“Now we have a chance to play against them, and I am sure it will be different”.

It looks like Jose Mourinho’s sending out a second-string team for their EFL third round clash against Northampton. “We’re going to wait for the results from the doctors”.

Northampton cancelled out Michael Carrick’s opener thanks to Alex Revell’s penalty just before halftime on Wednesday, but Ander Herrera and Marcus Rashford sealed the victory for United in the second half at Sixfields Stadium.

But asked about the critics, Rooney told MUTV: “I think I’ve had that my whole career – a little bit more of late, I think, but that’s football”.

Northampton tried to find their way back into the game, but United held on for a comfortable win.

“But in the second half, we did the job and we finished the game off”. “I think the team was in control from the beginning”.

“I think I should stop to speak about referees’ decisions”.

He said: “We can show again what we want to do”.

“Of course we are playing against the last Premier League winners, the champions, so we have to respect them but we have to try to win”. “I tried to do that and I shot before but the post didn’t allow me to score”.
