Samsung’s Galaxy S8 might go Exynos-only next year
There are a lot of prospects for the Samsung Galaxy S8 and as the year comes to an end, expect more official news, especially those addressing rumors about virtual reality (VR) compatibility and advanced screen resolutions.

The device was set to come only in February during the Mobile World Congress, but the fiasco surrounding the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 seems to have accelerated the development work surrounding the phone.
According to a report from SamMobile, the Galaxy S8 may be packing a Samsung Exynos 8895 processor, with an ARM Mali-G71 GPU coming along for the ride.
Initial reports indicate the official was arrested after trying to pass off details about Samsung’s 14nm and 10nm processor technology. But one thing that can help the company beat the count and get back into the game is the new and upcoming flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S8.
It must be interesting to note that the snapdragon 830 chipset has not arrived yet and it may be a considerable amount of time before it actually arrives.

The Mali-G71 is ARM’s latest and greatest, built on a brand new Bifrost architecture that’s claimed to be far better at VR and 4K applications (quite possibly both at the same time, too). However, at this moment, details about the upcoming Adreno chip are scarce, so a comparison is not really possible. But despite the scrutiny that it is facing due to the flaming phone issue that it has, it still is not giving up the fight as it is giving hints that a much more powerful Galaxy S8 is in the making. The other features that it can support include OpenGL ES 3.2, Android Renderscript, GPU Compute and Vulkan. However, Samsung will have to decide the frequency that it will use inside the graphics processing unit.
