Awesome app turns your iPhone into an 80s VHS camcorder
And if you want, you can spoof the time and date of the video, so you can make it look like you really did shoot it in 1989.

If you want to shoot “vintage” photos with your iPhone, there are apps like Instagram.
Surprised? It is no surprise that iPhones can capture video in a handsome 1080p video quality, but what’s peculiar and interesting about this hip new app is that it transforms that good-looking footage into a not-so-good-looking, jittery, defect-laden recordings. It even has the white play text in the top left corner, something anyone who has ever used a VHS player has probably seen many times.
VHS Camcorder also, hilariously, has a “tilting device makes things worse” feature so the more you move your device while recording, the worse the video gets. You can even put the date directly on the screen to complete the disastrously cheesy package.
A new app is only for Geeks that can remember what a VHS tape is and what a camcorder is. The app has real-time preview that lets you degrade the picture by dragging your finger around or by shaking your iPhone (or iPad). Also: because this app has gotten a ideal 5-star rating from its few happy users.

Developer Rarevision is charging $3.99 for the opportunity which may be a bit more than some are willing to fork over for a retro camera app. The company is working on a version for Android although there’s no indication of when it’ll arrive.
