Ted Cruz officially endorses Donald Trump in Facebook post

Sen. Ted Cruz has officially endorsed Donald Trump for president. Hillary Clinton is manifestly unfit to be president, and her policies would harm millions of Americans.

The on-again, off-again bromance between Ted Cruz and Donald Trump is back on again, likely much to the chagrin of Glenn Beck.

“First, last year, I promised to support the Republican nominee”.

Mr Cruz added: “If you don’t want to see a Hillary Clinton presidency, I encourage you to vote for him”.

Since the convention speech, polls have suggested that Cruz’s popularity was slipping nationally and in Texas – where he could face a primary challenger for re-election in 2018.

“Donald will betray his supporters on every issue”, the Texas senator added, while calling Trump “utterly amoral”, “a narcissist”, “a bully”, and “a serial philanderer”, among other things.

Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus warned earlier this month that there could be consequences for former GOP rivals who don’t endorse their party’s nominee, alluding to withholding resources for future White House bids. “If Clinton wins, we know – with 100 percent certainty – that she would deliver on her left-wing promises, with devastating results for our country”.

Despite mixed reactions both on and off social media, Cruz has not commented further on his Trump endorsement. But since the contentious GOP primary, Trump has hired key Cruz allies such as Kellyanne Conway as his campaign manager, and Jason Miller as a spokesman.

Cruz specifically cited Trump’s opposition to a plan for the U.S.to relinquish control of functions key to the internet.

Friday, Trump released a new list of conservative judges likely to appeal to the former Supreme Court clerk – including perhaps Cruz’s closest friend in Congress, Utah Sen.
