Vikings Officially Place Adrian Peterson On Injured Reserve
Peterson had surgery Thursday to fix a torn meniscus, which usually requires three-to-four months of recovery. That much is certain. Yes, with his history and career stats, one could be anxious about how he will perform. Dr. Derek Ochiai, of the Nirschl Orthopedic Center in Arlington, Va., said Thursday he is taking into account Peterson’s history of healing fast when he projects he will be out a minimum of three to four months. Both teams lost their “featured backs” last week to injury, Minnesota’s Peterson underwent surgery to fix a torn meniscus, while Jonathan Stewart is dealing with a pulled hamstring.

LAS VEGAS (AP) – The Raiders are another step closer to calling Las Vegas home.
A plan to build an National Football League stadium that could attract the Raiders to Las Vegas hit another milestone on Wednesday, with Gov. Brian Sandoval signaling support for the project and saying he intends to call Nevada lawmakers into a special session early next month to consider a public financing plan. It is fair to say that Diggs is the main target the Vikings would like to build and help the team grow.
New England hasn’t ruled out a return for Garoppolo, but it looks like he’ll be sidelined until Brady’s suspension is up.
ABOUT THE VIKINGS (2-0): Quarterback Sam Bradford was excellent in his Vikings debut, completing 22-of-31 passes for 286 yards and two touchdowns in last week’s 17-14 win over Green Bay.
Of course, the team can only bring one player back. Luck said his throwing shoulder is just sore, downplaying any concern.
Ivory ran for 1,070 yards and seven touchdowns on 247 carries last season. MLB Eric Kendricks (ankle) was limited in Wednesday’s practice but is expected to play. The injury reportedly occurred during a practice play where Coleman hauled in a pass and went to the ground, at which point a teammate landed on his hand. Through two games, he leads the Chargers with 23 percent of the team’s targets, 30 percent if you exclude the contributions from Keenan Allen and Danny Woodhead. The team didn’t indicate how long the first-round pick would be out. Looking out for his future, the 31-year-old player chose to go with the procedure for obvious reasons.
Kalil was placed on injured reserve Wednesday with a lingering hip problem that he played through in the first two games. Running back Jonathan Stewart will be missing from the game due to a hamstring injury (Cameron Artis-Payne and a couple others will fill in for him), but tackling Stewart might be have been a blessing compared to tackling the linebacker in quarterback’s clothing named Cam Newton. Abdullah hurt his left foot on a 24-yard run in the second quarter of Sunday’s loss to the Titans.

Josh Gordon’s latest legal issue won’t affect the suspended Browns wide receiver’s playing status. The Cuyahoga County prosecutor’s office in OH has confirmed that Gordon has not address several subpoenas and that a judge issued the warrant last month. It’s not any fun to talk about, but if they’re going to do it then next year would be the time.
