Google launches smart messaging app ‘Allo’
According to Google, “With your Assistant in Allo, you can have a conversation with Google – ask it questions and let it help you get things done directly in your chats”. The app syncs perfectly with Gmail and also downloads everything from ticketing data to reservations so while on the holiday, users can access everything in just one go. Allo is also integrated with Google assistant, a recently launched technology that lets users interact with their smartphones using voice commands. But too often we have to hit pause on our conversation – whether it’s to check the status of a flight or look up that new restaurant.

And if Google is one to keep its big promises, Allo app should clearly release anytime this week. Smart Reply will also suggest responses for photos sent in Google Allo. Allo and the company’s upcoming Google Home smart speaker will be the first two products to include the new technology. Further, rolling out at launch are over 200 stickers created by popular independent artists that are relevant to and will appeal to Indian users.
This means that when a person asks you if you are interested in partying on Friday, the messaging service will allow you to simply reply ‘I am in.’ Likewise, if you get a photo of a cute puppy, you will get a suggestion to reply ‘so cute!’ It’s a handy feature for instances in which you might not have a ton of time to type out a full response, and Google says Allo will learn more about your responses over time to adapt to your style.
The next time you need to Google something, you may end up doing so via text message rather than typing in a search query or saying “Ok, Google”. You no longer need to leave a conversation with friends just to grab an address, share your favorite YouTube video, or pick a dinner spot. And of course, you can also chat one-one-one with your Assistant in Allo. As other messangers like LINE and Facebook Messenger, Google’s new messaging app offers an array of stickers to choose from. You can also research travel destinations, flights and hotels together with friends. The Duo app is available from the last couple of months whereas the Allo is rumored to be available starting from September 21st. Ask your Assistant to share that amusing YouTube video or play games with friends right in your group chat – for instance you can compete to guess a movie title based on a series of emojis.

Allo will have end-to-end encryption only while chatting in “Incognito” mode.
