Church to celebrate 40 years

At 3 p.m., the church will host 100 Men in Black and 100 Women in White. Cosmos Sunday’s 9:30 a.m. worship service will feature the hand bell choir. Donnie Buford and the congregation invites everyone to attend.

Events include a hayride, cornhole tournament, entertainment, and a picnic and hot dog roast.

St. John’s Catholic Church, Houghton, will have its Harvest Festival Sunday in the Knights of Columbus Hall.

“Change for change” for hunger will be collected during Sunday’s 10 a.m. worship with Communion at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 1326 1st Ave.

House of Judah Church of God, 3867 W. Wilson St., Farmville, will celebrate Pastor Mary Whitehurst Ward’s 12th anniversary with a service at 3 p.m. Sunday.

First Cumberland Presbyterian Church Of Oak Ridge: The church’s second Family Falloween will be 5-8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29.

The 19th Sunday after Pentecost and Mission work in Tanzania will be celebrated during the 5 p.m. vespers service Saturday, Sept. 24, and during the 9:15 a.m. traditional service Sunday, Sept. 25, at Living Faith Lutheran Church, 2915 Wright Ave. Childcare will be provided. Lunch will follow the Sunday morning service.

I was absolutely delighted with Pastor Miller’s remarks and the graciousness of the Happy Union Baptist Church congregation to go to such lengths to honor those who put their lives on the line every day to protect our community. The conference will be from 9:30 a.m. -3:30 p.m. Registration is required, and continental breakfast and lunch are included.

New Vision Faith Ministries, 102 Eastbrook Drive, will host Kingdom Connection Fellowship Convocation from Monday-Friday.

New Jerusalem Church of God in Christ in Magnolia will hold the 26th “Holy Anniversary” program at 3 p.m., honoring Supt. Speaker: Pastor Krystal Bryant, of St. Paul AME Church, Cokesbury. Speakers: Pastor Danny Burnley, of Laurel Baptist Church, Greenville; Pastor David Gallamore, of Rock Springs Baptist Church, Easley; the Rev. Gary Hollingsworth, executive director and treasurer of S.C. Baptist Convention; Pastor Mark Riser, of Matlock Baptist Church in Jackson (S.C.); Pastor Mac Brunson, of First Baptist Church, Jacksonville, Fla. Church of the Savior, 934 N. Weisgarber Road. The 13-week, program is open to anyone who has experienced the death of a loved one. The singing will be October 1 at 7 p.m. and will feature Roy and Kay Heinz from Berea, as well as the Praise Singers. The foundation, affiliated with Radiant Life Church, aims to help families in financial crisis.
