Silence of the Lambs house for sale

The victorian home up for sale in the Perry Township of Pennsylvania isn’t quite as creepy as the psychopath’s disheveled digs abound with moths and the screams of women whose skin he’d harvest to make his “woman suit” with.

According to the NBC report, the production crew transformed the house in six weeks, then spent three days filming.

The house featured in the Academy Award-winning film as the residence of a psychopathic criminal known as Buffalo Bill is located in a Pittsburgh suburb and listed for $300,000.

The property was built in 1910 and features a wraparound veranda, oak panelling, a pantry, dining room and three bedrooms and there’s even a pool out back to cool off in. There is also the book where the movie was based where director Jonathan Demme and actress Jodie Foster signed.

It belongs to Scott and Barbara Lloyd, both 63, who put it on the market on Sunday after buying it almost four decades ago, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reported.

Anthony Hopkins played Dr. Hannibal Lecter, a crazed, cannibalistic psychiatrist whose macabre clues help Clarice Starling, the rookie Federal Bureau of Investigation agent played by Jodie Foster, track down and kill Buffalo Bill in his home. Realtor Dianne Wilk, of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices is in charge of the listing and believes its haunting history may be a selling point.

“People love to be scared”, Wilk told TribLive.com.

The couple are looking to downsize their home and Mrs Lloyd said: “We got married in this home, we raised our son in this home, but we are ready to move on”. “I could see somebody doing something fun with this”.
