Open presidential debates to all candidates

This will be the first time a presidential candidate has visited State College since former Democratic candidate, Senator Bernie Sanders, came to Rec Hall in April.

Trump and Clinton are the most disliked presidential candidates in history, both having an “unfavorable” image with the majority of the US population. Old Abe tells you that your vote won’t go to waste because if you vote for Clinton to stop Trump, someone else will vote for Trump to stop Clinton.

The Green party may try to “escort” candidate Jill Stein into the presidential debates in an attempt to get her onstage, a campaign adviser announced on Wednesday. Stein rejected the idea that voting for a third party was throwing away a vote.

If we truly value the sacrifice of those who have preserved our right to vote, then we must vote our conscience rather than figuring the odds of how the casting of our ballot affects other possible outcomes. Currently, fivethirtyeight.com gives Clinton a 93 percent chance of winning Washington.

Add Jill Stein to the ranks of public figures questioning Donald Trump’s mental condition. “But what’s going on with Trump, you can’t even get at and what he said was that even to clarify 15 out of these 500 deals, these are just like the most frightening mafiosos around the world”. She has been a steadfast advocate for the environmental and racial justice movements and for getting big money out of elections.

In recent weeks, we’ve seen massive support for San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick and his refusal to stand for the national anthem. Don’t be persuaded by the “oh, she can’t win” argument or “oh, she’s just a spoiler” argument.

While she describes Trump as a danger she also believes he’s nothing more than a moron who has destroyed the GOP. She is leaning towards voting for Hillary, but she supports some of Stein’s policies.

A foreign policy based on military domination and blatant disregard for worldwide laws.

In the 2000 election, consumer advocate Ralph Nader, the Green Party’s candidate, won only 2.74 percent of the popular vote.

Members of the Penn State Green Party are happy to see that Stein is coming to Penn State, Tim Gleason, Penn State Green Party chair, said. Recent events have served to highlight each major party candidate’s significant weaknesses: Donald Trump childishly lashed out against a pastor objecting to Trump’s hateful speech, and Hillary Clinton’s campaign was caught lying yet again after she collapsed from an illness she had tried to hide.

Stein’s platform calls for radical action to address climate change; the right to education, health care and employment; racial and economic justice and a foreign policy based on peace and worldwide law. There are solutions for all of these problems, but they’re being blocked by political parties that serve the corporate elite, not the people.

Independent Jill Stein says it’s “the greatest existential threat that humanity has ever faced”. If not now, when? Clinton is this country’s best hope right now.

Make your vote count. Especially if we want to avoid a future defined by hostility towards immigrants and people of color, the near certainty of catastrophic global warming and a disastrous economic plan ripped straight from the Tea Party’s playbook.
